Ninja Scroll

Rating:

Before I say anything else, I must tell you, this movie is WAAAAAY Rated R. Our hero in this film is Jubei, a masterless ninja who will take any job if it pays money, or has a good cause. His co-character, who comes close to being a second main character, is Kagero. A Poison Tester/Ninja Girl. Kagero is a most interesting character, being that she is immune to all poisons. Cool right, not always. Because of this poison has also seeped throughout her entire being. Making it so that any man who even kisses her could die from it. Throughout the movie you see this as an advantage as well as a disadvantage to our heroine. There is a third party that I should introduce you to. I won't tell you his name but I will tell you that he is a sly old man who works for the government. The movie starts off with entire villages dieing of disease and poisoned well water. Kagero and a group of other warriors from her clan go to investigate the most recent village wiped out from this plague. But on the way every one of them are killed except Kagero. Who's captor spares her only to rape her first, then kill her. Luckily, our hero Jubei comes to her rescue. After this initial encounter, it seems that these two have become entwined in their duties and missions. Ultimately, you get to see a carefully knitted story unravel itself. Basic Scenario: The bad guy is bad, the good guys have problems, not to mention Reincarnation, Self-Preservation, Duty, Honor, Poison, Passion, Sexual Relations, Love, Sadness, and Sorrow.

Anyone who likes graphically gory movies will more than likely like this one. Lots of blood spewing too. In fact, the creators of this movie don't seem to have held anything back. It also has alot of very graphic sexual content as well as a little gay and bisexualism. As I said before, Rated R. The good thing in this movie is that the characters come with a wide range of talents. Such as communicating through transparent threads, being able to make white mice explode like bombs, having a back that is also a beehive, you get the idea. So, how's the animation? A bit flat, but still very good. When it comes to the build of the characters think Demon City Shinjuku. Despite the many uncommon things in this movie, oddly enough, it's very realistic.
